The 2/4 Association recently dedicated a beautiful black granite monument next to the National Museum of the Marine Corps near the soon to be completed chapel. The 2/4 monument contains etchings of 2/4 Riflemen of different eras, a praying Chaplain, and a corpsman carrying a wounded Marine across a battlefield. The etchings are the work of two great artists -- Col Charles Waterhouse, USMC (Retired) and Mr George Arensberg.  The center panel is nearly ten feet tall.  It is truly a work of art.

The 2/4 Association has been granted permission to lay 194 bricks around the base of the monument.  The bricks may be dedicated to anyone, living or dead, military or civilian. The cost of each brick is $330.00, a significant portion of which is tax deductible.  All proceeds will go the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation in support of the Museum.
Attached is an application form containing instructions for ordering the bricks. If anyone has questions they may contact General Weise by email: wweise2@gmail.com or send in the form attached below.

Thank you again for your help.

At present we have 35 paid requests plus about 10 more probables. Once we get 194 paid requests the request forms will be submitted to the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation. Each request will be put into the exact format that will appear on the finished bricks, and each requester will will be sent a copy. Each requester must approve the format and/or make changes and return the form to MCHF. Once all confirmed requests have been received by MCHF a schedule for installation will be arranged.

Incidentally, the 2/4 Association (a non profit veteran organization under IRS regulations) maintains close contact with the current active duty battalion, the "Magnificent Bastards" of the 2d Battalion, 4th Marines. Currently we sponsor, fund and present four leadership awards and scholarships to the active duty Marines and Sailors of 2/4. We've been doing that for 20 years.
