“I've spoken with a lot of people of different ethnicities over the years and always told
them that I never had a problem with race or religion. (I still can't tolerate assholes.) I
also told everyone that other folks never seemed "anti-me" either. In Okinawa when I
finally got orders to Vietnam, we had agoing away party. With the racial tensions in '65
we couldn't really get together at the club on base so we took over two rooms in a
Japanese (Okinawan) restautant near MCAF Futenma that was upstairs from our favorite
steam bath. This last pic was taken by Mamma-san just before we all got super wasted.
